Grimentz, Val d'Anniviers

On piste

The Val d'Anniviers ski area covers 220km of high altitude, snow sure, groomed pistes to suit all abilities. The ski pass covers the areas of Grimentz-Zinal, St-Luc-Chandolin and Vercorin.

The Grimentz-Zinal ski area is accessed by a 12 man gondola, which takes 7 minutes from the village centre . to the Grimentz side, and a spectacular new cable car which takes just 7 1/2 minutes to the heart of the Zinal area.

Grimentz is well set up for children with a crèche on the mountain, snow garden and nursery slopes easily accessible at the top of the gondola. Equally it has excellent and extensive pisted runs for intermediate and advanced skiers. The snowpark has ramps and jumps for beginners to pro level free stylers.

Zinal offers steeper runs, much favoured by international ski teams who come here for pre-season training. The views over the neighbouring 4000m peaks is breathtaking and the freeride possiblities extensive. The dramatic Piste du Chamois black run back to Grimentz is quite simply one of the best pisted descents in the Alps.

The St-Luc-Chandolin ski area is accessed by a free shuttle bus service and offers great, long, rolling pistes on a high, south-facing mountain with a good choice of restaurants.Definitely worth taking a day out to discover this exceptional area.

Vercorin is a smaller ski area, interesting for a day visit. It is about 25 minutes by car, or off-piste skiers can ski there off the back of the Grimentz ski area.
